I didn't realize that Sturgeon was still open in some areas.  Would anybody be interested in joining me on Sunday or Monday?  I've never fished this area for sturgeon so it would be a new experience.

Also a last chance for AOTY sturgeon points :)

The Dalles Reservoir (The Dalles Dam upstream to John Day Dam)
•Effective January 1-November 11, 2013, this section of the Columbia River is open to retention of white sturgeon seven days per week until the catch guideline of 300 legal white sturgeon has been met. The daily bag limit is one sturgeon between 43 – 54 inches fork length.
•Retention of white sturgeon will be prohibited effective 12:01 AM Tuesday, November 12, 2013 for the remainder of the year.

Sorry I can't join you J.  But I'll be curious to know how you do.  There are some fishy looking holes on the chart - the southern tip of Browns Island, and just north of Memaloose Island, etc.  I know nothing about the ramps or the rest of the area, but it looks like it would be fun to try.  Catch 'em up.

I heard of a few being caught at the mouth of the Deschutes while people were salmon fishing.

That makes some sense.  Warmer water and food on a conveyor belt.

I would love to but it's too far for me and it's my birthday weekend. I'll be slaying Coho on the Siltcoos! Hopefully...

For you Washington guys
The Chehalis and Willapa Rivers are both open for sturgeon until the end of the year.
And they both have fish(sturgeon and salmon) in them.
Just sayin......
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent
