For the August edition we thought maybe we should try something new. Walleye fishing is pretty fun and they fight better than pellet head trout. Smb are also going to get caught.

On 08/20 we will meet at the far end of Sauvie Island Rd where it ends on the Multnomah Channel at 0800 with participants arriving at 0900.

Please don't forget a Sauvie Island Wildlife Area parking permit!

Looking for a few volunteers to help get some Veterans out for the day.

Regards,
Anthony

I haven't done any walleye fishing around here so I don't know anything about fishing for them but I can be a good chaperone.  Put me down.

I will be there. Have yet to pull an 'eye from the kayak, but am more than willing to assist in any way I can.

Considering the forecasted heat for the day, what do you all think about moving the start time forward an hour?

Fish until lunch, eat, pack it up.

Proposed change : Volunteers arrive at 0700 with Veterans arriving at 0800.

All in favor say aye.

Weatherbug is saying 1200 - 89°, 1400 - 95°, 1600 - 99° in Scappoose.

Did we make a final call on this one? Wondering if I should load up the kayak tonight or tomorrow morning.

Yup we are going off early. Don't forget your Sauvie Island Wildlife Area parking permit. If you don't have one, stop at the 7-11 in Linnton.

We have a bunch of worms, cold drinks, sandwich making stuff, and a fat ass Hermiston watermelon.

Please bring your VHF radio and your anchor (if you have one).

See you in the AM!

Thanks to Ray, Matt and Homes for braving the heat to volunteer Saturday. The walleye bite was off, but there were some smb to keep busy with. Everyone had a nice time and we got packed up and on the road well before the temperature topped out.

It was a good time indeed! That was quite the little SMB honey hole he had there.
