Great catch.   I'm so bad at not taking/posting pics to show off my catches.  I see there still at Gold Crk.  Any jumpers/marks closer to the launch?

I'm satisfied with this fishing season!  I definitely have plenty of halibut, rockfish, and salmon to last the winter, plus share with the family.

Look forward to next spring's fishing and will now wrap the fishing season up for this year....except burbot/Lakers/trout icefishing for the winter.  ;D

The main school was about a half mile past mineral cr to out past gold cr. . seiners looked like they were getting ready. If I was staying close, I'd use 4 oz or small planet to get down 10 to 15 ft and hug the shoreline   20 ft or less water. In river type plugs and spinners would work I think.

Ok after a one for four day. A little redemption. Went 10 for 10. Kept 6. Wish I had more time. Went all the way to gold creek. 5+ miles one way. But once there, easy limit. Took less than 2 hours once I got out there.  More time dealing with netted fish then fishing. Herring behind a flasher for most. Also caught a few on Blue 6 vibrax. Mainly on downrigger fished 25 to 35 ft down in less than 80 ft of water.  Some of the fish had started to blush. Meat was firm and good the ones I cut.  Three were at 30 inches.

Nice haul Rudy.  The few times I fished for silvers out of Valdez years ago, the Vibrax was money, in my case the green one, trolled on the surface behind a 4 ounce crescent sinker.  Another technique that was fruitful was jigging small irons over schools.  We'd mark a school, setup upwind of them, cast down drift and jig while we were swinging over them.  I've never done that elsewhere for silvers, but it worked pretty darn good for us out of Valdez.

I flew out on a 6 am flt Tuesday morning.  I have some decent video since I caught all of them in a span of two hours. Still need to edit out. The only bummer is not a single coho jumped while on my line. Weird. Hopefully this evening!!

Polepole, I wish I had more time to mooch but it was a mission to limit and drive 5 hours home. Next year!!!!
