I hope to hit Drano on Tuesday and/or Thursday in the Tandem Island and I'm planning on renting or borrrowing a drysuit for my bud who's driving up from CA. Even though the chances of going overboard in a TI are minimal I don't take chances with my friends, don't have any to spare. If anyone has one to loan for the week that would be awesome, he's about 5'8" and 170 lb.

Drano now has a four adult salmon limit, native or hatchery, and two poles per angler are allowed. Just need a WA license, Salmon catch card and two pole endorsement.

Wednesday we're going out with a guide to the mouth of the Klick. He's been limiting on Nooks lately. If that is as much fun as I think it will be we may stay overnight and take the TI out there Thursday.

Anyone want to join us?

If your using the guy with the big alumweld sled on the mouth of the klick find out what egg cure he's using. I watched him limit out 6 clients before noon one day.
Oh and I think Damn painter has been fishing down there almost every weekend, I'm sure if you got with him he would probably show you around.

Dirk, thanks for the feedback.

Yep, I think that's who you're talking about, he told me yesterday that he's been limiting every day lately (hope I don't jinx him!). I definitely will be picking his brain when we're out there and I may stay and kayak fish it for the next day or two. How far up the Klick have you been fishing?

I'll PM Dampainter and see what he's been doing at Drano.

I've been fishing crab creek, as of late but I spent 2, four day weekends in september fishing down at the mouth. I fished where the sand delta from the mouth meets the columbia. The boat launch closest to that is in lyle maybe 100 yards away from where everyone fishes. Bring some 2 to 3 ounce crippled herring, blue and chrome or green and chrome, and of course eggs. everyone runs eggs one ft off the bottom and just drifts down to the green channel marker.
I will say that it's probably one of the easiest kayak fishing spots I have fished. Peddle up stream and drift down along the river mouth delta and repeat. The boats are all stressed out trying to control thier position mean while the kayak just weaves on through.

Saw DamPainter out there today. We did pretty good, 8 coho, 13 nooks and 3 jacks. We also caught about 25 shaker sturgeon above the bridge on the Klick. Can't wait to do it again!

Got to get back here with the yak next week.

Had to buy a second vacuum sealer:

Exhausted but my best fishing day ever. Sadly my bud has to head back early Friday so we can't fish again. Here's one of his:

Wow, way to go!

Looks like you could scratch salmon off the shopping list. (but that's no fun)
My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.
