There was a bit of a coho bite at the 130-140' straight west of the beach yesterday. Not a hot one, but there were some fish. I scratched out a keeper, one guy scored a limit, and the other two released a handful of wilds. There was bait, birds, good water temps...just not many coho around. Hope the bite improves for ya by Tuesday!

Going Tuesday, conditions looked just a little better

I'm going Tuesday, launching from Depoe, not doing the sand drag with the AP120 again soon.
6:30ish launch.
I'll be on channel 69

I was out yesterday (8/7) launched at Fogarty and got into coho right over the rocks straight out in 60 feet of water. Hooked a bunch and landed a few all wild. Tried out deeper and found a couple more.. all wild fish. Really fun though. There was a lot of bait boiling randomly and I kept chasing the bite around. Never got a keeper to the net.

Launched at 7, out to the bell buoy and a hard right toward Government Point.
A drive by when I was off the condos.
I looped between the condos and GP in about 75 FOW.
4 wilds and a hatchery that self released at the boat :'(
A couple rockfish that thought they wanted to be salmon, they went back.
The wild fish were beasts, pulled much harder than the hatchery fish.
24 more days and they're on the menu.

Was that you in the orange kayak around 11:30 in front of Fogarty this morning? I was in a charter boat with my daughter and father-in-law on a charter out of Depoe. We did pretty well, but I would rather have been fishing from a kayak.

That was me. I thought I would see folks who launched from Fogarty. Nope, I saw a couple kayakers a ways off, other than that it was power boats and the charter boats

@clayman is the Yoda of that beach...

so if 'clayman' is the Yoda of Fogarty can I be Gandalf of Siltcoos/Tahkenitch coho?  ;D

I love seeing the shiny ocean coho being caught, I'm skipping ocean salmon this year to help my sons (who both live in OR now) with some projects and moving and such...

I feel that is an appropriate title for you sir!
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?
