Had this crazy idea to have a get together at say a local park, or shop and have a Show and Sell kind of setup.

It could work like a "Car show/swap meet" sorta deal.

Anyone with a kayak or two could bring their gear and set up a display showing their kayak fishing layouts for others to glean ideas from, or to just spawn conversation from.  The whole concept could be very informal.

On the other side of the idea, folks could display their excess gear that they may want to sell, or trade with other like minded folks. I know many here have acquired zillions of bits and pieces that relate to kayak fishing, and could use a purge, and then there are others than could use a great deal on used stuff.

Keep in mind that I'm merely suggesting the idea, not necessarily taking on the task of scheduling or facilitating it.
If any of you newbies or veterans want to run with the idea, by all means have at it.  I'm just brain storming from my Lazy-boy chair.  Or, just let this thread die naturally.  ;)

   INSAYN,
I like the idea as well.We all have more "stuff" than we will ever use.At least I'll admit that I do.
The logistics, timing ,place, etc. could be a regional thing---Seattle area,Portland,or others...Not sure about putting something like this together....but I'm pretty sure there would be interest from this group. :-\
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

You guys beat me to it.   I do like the idea.  Though I'm definitely not volunteering to head it up.

All I heard was "Though I'm definitely GARBLED WORD volunteering to head it up." :)

Personally, being pretty new to the sport I do not have anything excess, although I am hoping to get there.

Beng even newer to the sport I'd be buyng, not selling.  But then again buyers are just as important as sellers for things like this.

If you haven't already,  have you considered selling it on Gunbrokers.com ???
I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't

I assume you're referring to my pistol for sale on here?  No it is not on Gunbroker.  Major reason for that is they require a credit card, or an email address from an ISP (i.e. not yahoo, gmail or similar).  Or at least they did a couple years ago the last time I tried to register on the site.  I do have a debit card but I haven't had a credit card in 5 years (thanks to Dave Ramsey), and the only ISP based email I have access to won't let me access firearm related sites (e.g. work email).

It is listed on a couple other forums, including a couple gun related ones.

Totally dig the demo/swap meet idea! If we do it at a nice park by a boat launch it could also turn into a fishing skills clinic. Also with a little advertising I bet the public would come to learn what we're all about.

I think the timing should be when the weather and water are warmer.

It would be cool to see 10% of all sales go to some good causes. 5% to HOW and 5% to NCKA Pay It Forward, Mooch and Marv fund. Maybe get some donated prizes from sponsors and members and silent auction them where 100% would go to the causes. Raffle might work too, if we could sell enough tickets.
