I want to thank you guys for helping me see the light!  I sold my power boat and bought a Revo.  I was tired of all the hassle of a power boat – maintenance, garage space, gas prices, launch fees, licencing, insurance – and couldn't use it but a couple times a year.

Last summer I saw some fool fishing for pinks out of a kayak at Dash Point (Puget Sound).   A couple months ago, while bank fishing on the Cowlitz, the guy next to me mentions he won a kayak in a contest years ago, but has never used it.  So, thinking about that crazy person at Dash Point, I bought the thing – $600.00.  Then I found NWKA, got the tinkering bug, and promptly spent three or four  times that on accessories, dry suit, roof rack, ff, etc.  I've only managed to take the yak out twice now – to calm lakes – and managed not to huli.

Personal stuff:  I'm a construction engineer for water treatment plants – currently commuting to/from L.A. every week.  I'm an easy going old fart, with plenty of fishing experience, but not enough catching experience.  I've lived, worked, fished in WA, HI, AK, and CA.  I'm lucky that my wife accepts that I must get my fishing fix at least once a week.

I don't know anyone else with a kayak, so I would love to meet and hook up with some of you guys in the coming weekends, and make some new friends.

Ralph, LWF

Welcome, FNG!  ;) :D
You came to the right place!  Lemme-get-this-straight... you bought a slightly used Revo for $600?  Dang, that sounds like a family kind of deal!

Glad to have you aboard!  You shouldn't have trouble finding people to fish with here.  Tight lines!
