Still no vendors in the NW stocking these things, but the local Okuma reps sent me a couple rods for show/tell/demo.  I got a BK-C-761M conventional rated 10-20lbs and a BK-S-761L spinning rated for 8-12lbs.

I'll bring them to Drano this weekend.  I'll probably fish with the larger one on Saturday, but if someone wants to try it out on Sunday, you're welcome to.

Hmmm ... that spinning rod will be perfect for pulling in 6-7 pound trout at the end of May.   ;D

Who knows, you might even need the heavy duty one for the pigs we got out here...  >:D

What reels are you pairing with these poles?

I'm going to drop an Abu 6500 on the big one.  And a 2500 class Shimano on the spinner.  I'm not a spinner snob ... good old Shimano Sahara does me fine.

I'm not up to speed so much on the Shimano conventional reels.  Can anyone summarize for me?

I'm also going to bring an equivalent Lamiglas Kayak Series rod in case anyone wants to try this rod as well.  Lemme know ...
