Yes,
Until last year I carried it on my Outback using a Yakima roof rack and now have it on my Trailex trailer knowing at some point I would buy a PA14.

I have not used it in the ocean....however, several NWKA members own Outbacks and are used/fished in the Pacific.

Depends on who you ask. I have an Outback and have no problem with the ocean. A few of our members take it miles off shore for halibut. It's clearly not as fast as a Revo or an Ady which are designed more for saltwater use, but it gets the job done.

Fungunnin, care to weigh in on your opinion of the Outback? :D hahahaha!

I take mine only in the ocean. It handles like a champ, with turbo fins its plenty fast .I'm 200 plus, the waif models that have them treat it like a barge.

I love my Outback. It handles fine for me out in the Salt. I agree it might not be that fast but I don't need much speed. I recently took it on a trip on the Umpqua River for small mouth. I have to admit it didn't handle awesome in fast water. That could be due to lack of experience and the over all design of that kayak. Paddling an Outback isn't very awesome either. I found it hard to get myself in position in fast water to shoot some rapids. I ended up high centered at one point and I ended up going backwards through the chute. It was scary/exciting/awesome. I don't think it would stop me from taking it out there again. Actually I plan on a return trip! It was a blast.

Over all I would say the Outback is very sea worthy. I agree that it does depend on who you ask...
I would buy this boat in a heart beat and I would encourage anyone else to do the same!

Yellow isn't my favorite color though  ;)

I have an Outback and love it. I fish it in the ocean all the time.  I love the tool trays beside you and all the storage options.  I have fished it numerous times down by the mouth of the Columbia in the current and waves and never felt any fear...well almost never.  There was that time ndogg and I went out and the boats were suspiciously absent.  We found out why real quick but hey, he caught a nice coho and we lived to tell the tale.  I have also taken it off-shore over 4 miles before, and several times over 3 miles.  However, there is always the fear I may have to paddle back.  That would suck in the Outback with a strong current. This is why I try to head up current to fish at the beginning of the day. Most of the time I am usually never more than about a mile from shore for bottom fishing.

From the few shark attacks on kayakers that have happened, apparently a good chunk of them were on yellow kayaks.
It's not known as "yum yum yellow" for nothin! :)

On the other hand, scientists have proven sharks are color blind and only see shades of grey...coincidence?
