What's up with all the big cabezon?  I was under the impression that they were virtually untargetable, only ever caught as unintentional bycatch, and so uncommon that its better to fish for dogfish and ratfish instead?

THANK YOU!  I  understand and very much appreciate your obscure reference.  :) :) :)

I am happy to see that the winner, and so many of the top finishers, caught cabs.

Who won the Skwoosh kayak seat?  Whoever it is, if you decide you don't want it let me know.  I'd buy it from you.

Since I didn't make it to the tourney OR the banquet......... what were the prizes awarded?  Was first place another kayak?

I probably just didn't find it on the board here, so...... don't yell at me TOO loud.   ::)

There was a smorgasbord of prizes up front. The top 10 winners were called up, and they got to pick their prizes themselves, so the prize list was't set. Bluewrx2 picked up a credit from Next Adventure that was equal to the cost of a Outback / Revolution 13. (He picked up a Revo). I don't remember the other prizes in order, but the 2nd most expensive item was a drysuit that was picked by the 4th or 5th place finisher. I think that was a great idea, let the person pick the prize that was the best for them.

The other prizes were raffled off by lot number. Every person entered got a prize, some were a hat or some other low value item, but some were high value. The fact is that everybody was a winner, and not in the kindergarten "3rd place hardest tryer" sense. That was one great tourney with the prizes, food, and camaraderie.

Almost certain you'd have taken 10th without gutting your fish.  If you think you have a top 10 contender I wouldn't even bleed it.

Nate - Lowrance HDS fish finder.
Mark - Gopro 3 Black edition.
Eric - Diawa rod and reel combo
Wesley -  Dry Suit
Noah - PFD dont remember which one.
Jeff - Dry top
Evan - a reel
Steve - Seat
Anthony - Cooler

I think that was the top 10. I dont remember most of the brands and specifics of them, but there were so many great prizes. I know there were still paddles and stuff up there.

+ 1 on letting us choose too, that was awesome.

I was really stoked to grab something I could use a lot and be all sedimental about my 20 seconds of fame.  (almost top 3).  Although Spot yanked the Gopro I was eyeballing.

I can't wait to get my new gear set up.

I would much rather be up a creek without a paddle than down one.

Sorry sumpNZ. The skwoosh seat is nicely placed in my Hobie Outback. I few modifications, a little adjustment here and there and presto chango, an awesome highback seat that is comfortable and supportive. I do have a Hobie seat available.
