Not sure what size I am.... I wear a large or extra large tshirt normally... Size 36-38 waist, size 30-32 inseem...  I'm like 5'-10 1/2" tall 208#.  Thanks for the tip on the surfing vs diving!  I'll keep my eyes peeled

You're probably an XL, but don't take my word for it.  Go to a local sports store that sells wetsuits and try a few on (even though you aren't really going to buy one).  Try a few different brands because they aren't all the same.  Once you have a feel for your size, then look to craigslist for the deal you can afford.

Here's a link to most camping opportunity in Pacific City and surrounding areas
http://www.pacificcity.org/parks/main.html

Tomichi Village RV Park & Camping doesn't look like they're too friendly due to the reviews.

Man I feel bad!  I really dropped the ball on posting this info.
I put together a list at home and just forgot to pass it on.  My humblest apologies all!   :-[

Camping sounds perfect for me, and my budget.  So we pretty much need a wet or dry suit for this right?  Are there places to rent them for the weekend?  OR shall I start saving now?  Thanks

You can rent right in town.  I'd suggest you rent the night before so you have it for an early paddle out.

Sniffer, Thanks for picking up my slack!!!!

Hey now, no big deal.  Lets just keep this thread going and make this event happen.  I'd love to see us get something like Elk going on yearly in OR.  How much fun could that be, even if I can only handle it for a few hours (back issues).

I'm willing to help out wherever I can.

Too bad it's not the weekend before as I participate in a radio DJ campout at Barview called Seafood Fest.  Two camping/fishing/kayaking weekends in a row.  How could I be so lucky.

Does this mean you can't make it this year?

One more place to stay:

Riverview Lodge
http://www.ifish.net/riverview.html
$25 /tent/night
No picnic tables.  No charge for overflow parking.  Think they can accommodate up to/around 35 persons.  2.5 miles from the Cape/Brewery.

A more complete list of places if you don't want to camp.
http://www.pcnvchamber.org/lodging.php

I'm planning to be there - somewhere - and camping unless Cindy wants to come.  Then we'll be in a hotel.

I just made reservations at the Cape Kiwanda RV park for Friday and Saturday nights. The wife, myself and the 3 Goldens will be staying in our travel trailer. It cost $43/night with full hookups. I was hoping to stay at the Inn, but the only room available just had a single queen bed. It also would have cost $580 for the two nights. They charge $20/pet per day extra.

Hope to see some of the rest of you at the RV park!

I will be up for this, providing I am able to get my yak in time.
Enjoy the ride!

Good Luck all and enjoy the salt. I can't do Saturdays but I'll be looking for the reports and photos. I'm sure I'll be back in the AOTY basement in no time  :'(

It might be a good idea to have an alternate venue for this event.  While we've got decent odds of having fishable winds and seas, it is the Oregon coast and it will be Fall......

Alternates might include:
Tillamook Bay
   - Ghost Hole
   - Sheeps Corral
   - Trask / Tillamook River tidewater
Nestucca Tidewater
Nestucca Float from 3 Rivers to Cloverdale
Cape Mears Lake

just reserved a campsite at Cape Kiwanda RV Park. This'll be fun! I'll also bring 3-4 boats & extra gear for those who might need to borrow something.

Any wetsuit gear to be borrowed?

I think so. I used to have one, anyway. I'm in the process of gutting my basement & sorting my older gear. It's kinda scary what's down there.
