I know the Redline is new... but I was wondering if anyone had a comparison between these two rods.  I am thinking of picking up the redline for sidedrifting, freedrifting, etc.  Any input is welcome.  Thanks.

its like comparing mud with diamonds. the x11 is crap and the redline is the baby brother to the si. Ive had both and would recommend the redline to anyone unlike the x11. its a great rod for a good price.

I'm curious, what do you not like about the X11?

Well, I can only speak from ignorance because I don't own more expensive rods. My 2 X11's landed quite a few salmon last year, with hardly any lost fish. ($65) ish.
I think it probably is apples - oranges ....guessing the Redline is more expensive. My only disappointment was discovering that they weren't local made....Shoulda known that at that price point.

They just dont have the sensitivity like the si or the redline. Sure a guy can catch fish with them but i fish enough that i buy the best equipment i can afford and if im going to choose i will take the redline. Like i said i still own mine and its my surf perch rod and its perfect for that cause i dont feel bad throwing it on the 4 wheeler and beating it up bombing down the beach. If a guy is just looking into getting started and not wanting to spend a bunch of money absolutely but for me i just dont like them.

Certainly no argument from me that a rod that costs twice as much or more will perform better.  Just sayin that they work well for me....100% salmon trolling.
Also, I do remember taking my first one back because reel seat threads stripped ... no problem @ Fishermans Marine.

I've used both as I have 2 x-11's and 2 redlines.  The redline is a lot more sensitive and it has the regular lamiglas warranty as it is still made here in the state (WA).  The x-11 is made in China and it doesn't carry the lifetime warranty, only a 1 year from date of purchase.  If you catch them on sale the x-11 is good for the money, but I would wait for the redline.  They are regularly on sale at Sportco for $120 ish.  I've trolled, mooched, jigged and sight casted the redline.. Couldn't/wouldn't do all that with the x-11.  Hope that a little insight for you.

I went a bought the 9'4" 8-12 redline. Matched with a pfluger president. Both with a coupon at sportco. Something like 119 and 45 respectively. I realized this is my first lamiglas.
