But the real question I'd like to know is what are you all bringing to BBQ?

And how is Wali going to be there when he'll be on a plane to the Queen Charlottes?

If I can talk the gfriend into a weekend in Portland, perhaps I'll take Wali's place?

Why sure you can take Wali's place. It's 3 bedrooms, about 40 minutes from Hagg, has a selection of kayaks, a trailer, and a old Subaru to pull them. You just have to feed the dog.
(Especially if Wali's is in YZP) :o

If I can get my act together and get some more trout, hoping to bring some smoked trout.

I've got some Albacore and salmon in the freezer I can bring to the BBQ.  I had some of the salmon last night, ummmmmmm good.  The albacore is excellent as well and I need to make some room in case my tuna trip on the 16th happens to fall on one of Oregon's nice weather days.  I've already been cancelled twice this year. >:(

" Went out to Hagg with a buddy I was introducing to yakfishing and to check the water temps for the safety clinic that has been postponed (more info to follow). "

From Wali's post 8/1 at Hagg Lake, is there anymore info?

Let's see Wali can't run the Safety Clinic on the 9th because he's off on an all expense paid vacation.  After that he's back in Florida.  I can't run the clinic on the 9th because I'm in New York.

Anyone, have a better date?  How about any of these days.. Aug 16th, 17th, 23rd or 24th?

The 16th or 17th would work for me.

Sorry guys, (well sorta  :-\ ) ;D

I tried to find a replacement, but it did not pan out. Y'all can still go up there and have a great time fishing and even practice re-boarding. The beach slopes gently to about 4' near the ramps and the water is warm.

Brian, Alkasazi, et al, make sure you include Andyjade in your plans as he's interested and into stroke mechanics. That a subject that's not usually covered in much detail and thats WAAY valuable (in fact, I think its more valuable than a carbon fiber paddle!).

Again, I really am sorry to flake on y'all, but I'll think of you while I'm riding the Halibut! (That gives a whole new meaning to the term fishing rodeo!)

I would be quite appreciative to be included in future planning.  Thanks to all for the warm welcome so far.

Wali asked if I could help out this weekend, but I'm working on what he calls WAF.  Sounds like some of ya all know what that's about.

Cheers,

AJ

Andy,

What day works for you?  It would be great to have someone who has spent time as a guide/teacher in the topic.  I'm not sure my summer teaching this sort of stuff as camp counselor when I was 16 counts.
