Wow.  What a day.  Started out dicey and got worse -- gusts to 35 mph according to the forecast.  Finally settled down around 10:30am.  Took quite a bit of paddling for me to make it back to the Sunrise dock to set out a couple hours on the shore.

If this is the kind of tourney NWKA throws often, I'll be back.   :banjo:

Thanks to everyone in the organizing of this shindig. Awesome to see such a strong turn out with g-force wind and blinding rain on the menu for the day. The system finally moved south before noon and conditions improved rapidly. Great to see everyone who made it!

I first want to Thank our Great sponsors for the great prizes.
#MalibuKayaks for donating a brand new #X-Factor Kayak
#OrionCookers, #Stohlquist, #BendingBranches, #Kokatat, #YakGear, #YakAttack, #RamMounts, #LucidFishingGrips

I also want to Thank Frank, the owner of Sunrise Motel and Dive Resort for hosting our Derby at his establishment. Hopefully next year we can return the favor by getting more of us to rent a bunk in the dorm or a room.

Huge Thanks to the NWKA crew that made it out and braved the wind and choppy water in the early mornings of the tournament....kudos to the rest of you that waited out the storm before going out and still caught limits.

We had a total of 31 participants sign up and only 1 person didn't show...must've gotten scared of some wind and rain...must be to used to living in Bend OR weather. Hahaha. Just kidding Adam12.

It was really awesome to see some folks drive up and fly in from Sacramento, CA, Portland and TriCities. I hope the experience was worth it.

Everyone that came out and signed up are all winners!

Congratulations ALL!
