The weather is usually pretty great in May.  CJ Strike reservoir is just outside of mountain home on the snake river.  I forgot to include the species we are fishing for.  Bass, trout, perch and crappie.

8 hour drive from PDX, sounds like an excuse for a roadtrip! Lots of fun fishy spots in between, too.

Weather in April can be cooler with some rain.  We don't get a ton of snow usually.  There are some hotels in mountain home about 20 miles away.  There is a lot of camping around the area.  Cottonwood has camping also camping by the Air Force ramp and by the dam.

Well I am a bit delayed on this thread..lol...ok well yeah guys murrica....aka...Jeremy which some of you may not know is now a hobie teammate of mine out here in idaho. He has been, as you can see, quite an asset in helping out with the organizing of some of Kick'n Bass Kayak Fish'n 's events, this of coarse being the first.
We are currently working on donations and all the cool stuff that you all want to see. As far as details now that I'm tapped into this thread I will start updating my info as well...
As far as camping and staying for the duration, yes the event will be held in a pay campground with all the hookups and everything. There is a nice mooring area and boat ramp. Cottonwood campground is on the bruneau arm of cj strike reservoir and the bio mass in this place is amazing!  As far as weather goes we never know here in idaho from one day to the next..ha...it could rain being April but either way we are fishn on the 3rd.

Awesome Smiley,  I can probably make this. I've never fished there so I may have to do some "scouting". Also, if anyone will be passing the La Grande area, the Wallow River should be in full swing for steelhead. Not much for table fare, but fun on light tackle.

Nice jed, the bruneau arm of cj is my favorite, mostly because of the perch, but there are so many species to chase it's almost to easy..lol
