I just got home from the hospital yesterday.
Had a laminectomy to relieve pressure on my spinal cord that was making my hands get numb and constantly cold.

I had asked my wife how big the insicion was and she had said about 6 inches. I thought she was telling me a fish story and exaggerating a little............ now that I removed the bandage and have seen the damage.......I guess she was pretty spot on.

This might take a while to heal up . I've got some serious muscle aching and occasional sharp pain if I move wrong but will just have to let it heal before I strain too much. And I really want to be out there for springers soon.
 Oh body---"Heal Thyself"

Looks like I'll have to fish vicariously through the rest of you guys for a while. Keep the reports coming. I will be back. Sorry if this grosses anyone out. Deal with it.

I'm glad you got that taken care of Mark!  I know you're not the type to enjoy just sitting around but it'll be worth it.

Glad to hear it went well and I'm sure the guys will leave a fish or two in the water for you. Speedy recovery and look forward to fishing with you many more times.

Oh yeah........ I'll probably poke in there a few times looking for springers too--- God willing.
Fall is soooo far away.  :o

Thanks for all your thoughts and positive energy folks. I can feel it and it'll help.
I've got a fairly long way to go before I'm back to normal or better..... but I'll get there.

Spot is correct about my lack of patience.... I've got so much to do and so little time. But I will make it happen.

That scar would go great with a zipper tattoo.   :icon_thumright:

Get that healed up and get back on the water.  8)

Hey Mark, I don't know if you remember me but I wish you a speedy recovery.
Also, I am jealous of that scar. That is rad and something to be proud of.
Cheers! and I'm looking forward to seeing you at Shannon's event in May.

Heal up Mark. It sounds like this will make fishing more enjoyable for you. Hopefully I'll see you on the water soon enough.

Great scar!  I like the tattoo idea earlier...

Those neck recoveries feel like forever (had 2...) but they do eventually get back.  Don't overdo it!
