Hi, I am a newbie kayak angler.

I just wanted to share that I have worked and take some idea and advices from other people.

To make trolling motor mount L shape aluminum bars for frame with stainless steel screws and two track nuts to attach to the rail, wood painted with house exterior paint, door hinge, linear actuator, and paddle holder(had just extra one). Also, i used 3way switch for linear actuator.

Because I do not have many tools and materials that I wanted, I just made w/e I could do. Anyways, this is what I thought after test

Advantage:
easy to tilt the trolling motor.
Do not have to drill on the kayak. (I figured out some people dont like to drill, some people does not care)

Disadvantage:
Heavier (approx. 10 lbs)
Big Volume

In the future,
I am thinking of making
1. better steering function because I use just built in steering function.
2. Want to use carbon fiber instead of wood for the mount.
3. Quick connecter for wiring because everything should be moving

I am appreciated to all the people who posted and shared the experience giving me a huge inspiration.
