Moderator I hope it is cool to post this here. This is a kayak fishing tournament for everyone from anywhere with any species.

La Jolla Kayak Fishing
Everyone’s Kayak Fishing Tournament 2007

With the growth of the sport of kayak fishing there has been a tremendous increase in the number of kayak fishing tournaments. There are tournaments all over the country, fresh and salt water, for bass, red fish, or yellowtail, you name it there is likely a tournament for it. Tournaments may be one day, a couple of days or even the entire year. The one constant is that the people who fish a lot or that catch the biggest fish are always the winners.

At La Jolla Kayak Fishing we wanted to do things a bit different by giving as many people as possible, fishing any type of water for any species of fish the chance to win a prize from our great sponsors. A catch and release bay bass angler has as much opportunity to win as a big game kayak angler.

There is no entry fee; Entrants need only submit photos of their fish, along with the weight. The photo will also need to include an item, designated at the beginning of each month, such as pliers, your hat, the OK sign or some other item to be eligible. Just as a warning at some point during the year a LJKF sticker will be the designated photo item, so make sure you have one on hand.

We want as many people to participate and have the chance to win as possible so the winners will be somewhat random.
At the end of each month we will randomly pick that months target species and which place fish will actually be the winner.
In other words after all fish have been submitted for the month we will draw from all of the submitted species to determine which of those species was the target or prize fish for the month. We will then roll a dice to determine which fish of that species is the winner. i.e. if we roll a 4 the forth largest fish of that species will win the prize of the month. So we could have the sixth largest Bay bass or the second largest White Seabass be the winner for the month.

Species submitted could be any legal sport fish from any region, anything from
Yellowtail to Trout, from Tuna to Bay bass, just make sure you catch it from a kayak.

The winner from each month as well as the person who catches the largest fish each month will go into a drawing for the year end top prize, a three night stay for two including kayak rental at the Hotel Punta Colorada, courtesy of Van Wormer Resorts, plus two pair of Maui Jim Sunglasses.

The winner each month will receive a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses and another great prize from one of our other sponsors, Lamiglas fishing rods, ExtraSport, Surf to Summit, or Werner paddles.

Tournament begins January 1 2007 and ends December 31 2007

Rules:
1.   Entry Fee $00000000
2.   Submit a fish to the proper LJKF forum and you are entered
3.   You may submit as many different species per month as you like, but only one submission per species.

11.   Any photo submitted without the designated qualifying item are not eligible
12.   Any evidence of tampering with a photo, such as photo shop, will be cause for disqualification for that month and banning from this and any future LJKF event or tournament.
13.   Target species will be determined on the first day of the following month along with placement and eventual winner.
14.   Target species will be determined by placing the name of each species submitted, for that month, into a hat and drawing from those.
15.   The winning placement will be determined by a roll of a dice. In the event a placement is rolled that does not correspond to a species/placement submitted we would re roll until a time that a winner is determined.
16.   Any fish taken out of season or not within required size limits will not be eligible.
17.   Only fish caught from a kayak are eligible to win
18.   Any legal sport fish may be submitted
19.   All fish must be caught with hook and line
20.   The name of the winners from each month and the name of the persons with the single largest fish each month will be placed into a drawing for the year end prize from Maui Jim and Van Wormer resorts.
21.   This tournament is open to kayak anglers from all regions of the US or even internationally, if you catch fish from a kayak you can enter.
22.   Have Fun, Play Fair. Don’t take it too serious it is all about having fun.

I hope you all have a good time with this, and see that we just want to add a fun spin on things and give as many people a chance to win as possible. If you have any questions about this please feel free to contact me. If you need help posting your photos please let me know I will do all I can to help.

Entries must be placed in the proper month, all others are locked so it should not be too tough.

We have had some complaints that taking the shot, holding the fish and doing the shaka was just to tough. So, If the Skaka is just to tough, go ahead a print a copy of this months sponsors logo and show it with your fish.
Please make it larger when you print it.

We will accept photo submitted with either the logo or the hand sign.

As you can see the fish does not have to be big to win.

The largest fish of the month was Dorado with his 62lb Thresher shark

Both will be entered into the year end drawing for a stay at Punta Colorada.

The photo item for May is the Van Wormer Resorts Logo

I don't think anyone from NWKA is participating in this, but we could have rocked the salmon category with all the one caught at Moutcha in September.  D'oh!!!!
