You guys are KILLING me with all these kayak fishing get togethers! Where were y'all last year!?!?

Guess I'll have to put some shorts on and go fishing ;D

Dunno if anyone else is coming down from Washington but for those of use who are, any tips on where to get a day license and bait nearby?
Thanks.

Z

Joe's in Delta Park had a Bait window that opened at 7 AM and you can get Roll Mop and frozen squid at Safeway on Hayden Island earlier than that. Fred Meyer's has always kept me legal for last minute licensing.

Let's see you left in October of 2007 and I showed up in November of 2007. It was probably just timing, but I'm going to take some of the credit (Allen probably deserves most of it).

Thanks for coming to LO for some Dino fishing guys.  It was awesome to see a river full of kayak anglers.  Sorry I had to catch and run - and I hope the bite got hot for everyone in the afternoon.  I'm always up for George Rogers so just say the word if anyone wants to come back.

What's next on the event agenda?  Whatever it is, I'm looking forward to it.

Nice fishing hole you have there DC.  There were definitely some big fish in that stretch of river.  I'm glad I had 300ft of anchor line.  I used all but 50ft when the tide started moving out again.  I'm going to have to make it down that way again soon.

It was good to finally meet DC, Insein and PNW!   Also nice getting to fish with kykfshr, bsteves, the -Z- man, AMB and Jay again.

Jim and I stuck around until 2 pm, was there any more action after the tide changed?  I hope others got into some fish.

Jim "InSeine" and I ended up with three shakers between us and one of mine was nice and thick.  My measuring system needs some adjusting as I wasn't able to get a good measure on it, but I think it was a few inches shy of the slot.

Oh, and I may have stumbled upon a new semi-secret bait, I just need to figure out how legal it is.

Thank to everyone that showed up, we'll have to do it again.

BTW, I found some pictures of us fishing on the internet (if you look closely).

looks like ya'll had a good time, wish I could have made it. Actually, I could have since the girlfriend-approved plan for yesterday got scrapped, but too late by the time that was decided. Maybe next month, I really need to get back in my boat....

Brian - the rock crawl pictures with us in the background are hilarious.  I can hardly believe all the nerdy enthusiast get-togethers there are.  And those rc guys are pretty crazy too.  ;D

How did your pics turn out?  And do you think the rc guys will look for themselves in the background?

I haven't looked at my photos yet.  My wife grabbed the camera as soon as I got home.  I'm hoping to sit down tonight and upload some pictures/videos.  If I did take any photos with the rock crawlers in the background, I may just have to post it on their forum just for kicks.

Thanks PNW!  It was great meeting you at the Dino Fest.  I've still got lingcod on the brain so keep me in mind if ocean conditions look good.  I'd love to fish the coast with you.  Good Luck -

Alan

OK - I'm trying to bulk add pics from the dino fest. i compress the pics, created & selected the category (Category: December PDX Dino Fishing Fest Dec 7th, 2008), & tried to use the "Bulk Add Pictures" feature.

after attempting to add the pics to this category, i keep getting the error message "An Error Has Occurred! You need to select a category." i've tried three times. what gives?
