How firm is that AOTD date? Firmer than last year in February?

It's pretty much always been the last Sat. of Aug. I know Stephen has the group campsite at Bastendorff C.P. again for that weekend this year. The reason there were any doubts in '20 & '21 was due to the governor's covid restrictions on how large any gatherings could possibly be, and I pray to Baby Jesus that we're out of the woods on that shit. Shake'nBake!

Anybody know when the date of the ORC will be confirmed and/or when signups will start? I'm trying to plan some time off at work around that event. Thanks.

ORC is almost always the weekend after The 4th of July since it was moved from Father's Day weekend many years ago. This was partially because Cabezon retention typically opens 7/1. I'm not going to come out and say that's when it will be and screw up your precious PTO, as I'm not in the loop. Hopefully someone on the committee will chime in. What I can say is that McKay's Shrimp and Crab Gear is back once again this year as a sponsor for both ORC and SBAOTD! And we have a new sponsor on board for both tournaments (drum roll please) it's Work Sharp of beautiful Ashland, OR. Really nice raffle prizes supplied by both great PNW companies.

Does anyone know if the ORC is happening this year and if so, what date are they planning to have it on?

Remind me again; why aren't we doing this organically anymore  ?

And , please, no yelling and screaming for a reply..
As of July 12th, I am, officially,  retired.

Why no ORC this year? I am bummed because this is the first time in years that I  can physically get out and fish again!

So, I may be wrong, but I thought it had something to do with new tax laws made it so that so.eo e would have to claim all of the entry fees as income. The new laws made it so you can't just show a donation  for equal dollars as entry fees so it would be wash.
It is something close to that I believe.

A guy can simply go to the HOW website and donate the entry fee to the Portland and north Oregon coast chapters and show a receipt with the date, just saying.

Haven't been here for awhile, maybe I missed something (wouldn't be the first time).
It would be good to have a definitive answer: 2022 ORC, yes or no?
