Head Chef Dana Hilden (yaksurf) could use some help with the potluck set-up, food prep, cooking & cleanup on Saturday. Please contact Dana if you want to help out.
I know it's short notice, but help organizing this food thread would also be very much appreciated.
We'll be having fish tacos, so plan your potluck contribution accordingly - tortillas, salsa, salads, coleslaw, lemons & limes, desserts, drinks or whatever your specialty may be. Donating clean, fresh fish fillets for the food prep is also welcome.

Potluck: Saturday, August 27th, 5:00 PM
• Bring donated fish for the fish fry to the marked cooler located at the shelter in the group camp site at Bastendorf County Park. Please bring cleaned fillets only. The earlier the better! Please remember to keep your fish on ice for food safety and the quality of the eats! Fish cleaning stations are located at Bastendorf County Park, Sunset Bay State Park and at Charleston Marina.
• The potluck and fish fry will commence in the shelter located in the group site adjacent to the restrooms at Bastendorf County Park.
• The cooking of the fish has been coordinated and will be accomplished by the normal crew of cooks again this year.
• Please bring a dish to contribute to the potluck- salad, side dish, desert, etc.
• Gluten free options are welcome will need to be clearly marked (battered fish, tortillas, etc.)
• Bring a lawn chair and your own beverages.
Cleanup
• The potluck area must be cleaned up prior to the commencement of the awards ceremony. Please take what you brought and help clean up and dispose of all trash.

Please post what you're going to bring. Potluck also posted here: https://bit.ly/3JKXpW2
I'll bring some of my homemade salsa verde & if they're ready, some garden fresh tomatoes.

I can bring some homemade salsa, and will gladly donate fillets of anything  I catch.
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

Putting a request out there for more tables this year. Table space for prizes as well as for food was at a premium last year. If anybody has a spare table or two you can bring would be splendid! Please bring over Saturday afternoon at the shelter area. Thank you.

I can bring at least one small folding table. I'm happy to bring whatever is needed for the potluck - I'll see what develops here and then post next week.

Anyone been out to Sunset Bay last few days? I'm wondering what conditions should be like.

Sadly, I don't think I'll be going, considering  the forecast. Just too far for me to drive, and not get in some good fishing.

I do however have some tasty homemade salsa and a ton of fresh picked grapes from the garden, that I'd like to donate to the potluck.

Is there anyone attending,  that will be in the Salem/Independence/Monmouth area, today or tomorrow,  that I can give them to?

We'll bring tartar sauce, shredded cheese, limes, and some dessert options. I have one 2 foot by 4 foot table that I'll bring. Feel free to call or text me for anything else and I'll pick it up.
