Hey all, I'll be camping here at the end of the month and was wondering about the kayaking/fishing opportunities in this area?

Sounds like triploid trout and maybe some walleye are the main targets here but most of the action I see being referenced is either up by the net pens for the trout and below Chief Joseph damn for the walleyes.

Is there any action near/around the actual state park itself? And is the kayaking there generally safe (will have some non-anglers who are also yakkin and was worried about potential flows via the dam).

Appreciate it!

Well zero answers here but will report for any future searches.

No real current to worry about around the park, thanks for confirming Tyler.

Saw a few trout hanging around the beach park but didn't really fish it very hard. Ran upriver to the grand coulee side and jigged for walleyes (wasn't able to connect).

Swang up to the net pens and quickly hooked up with a few triploids for consolation. The trollers were not catching from what I could see but casting spoons to risers/jumpers worked very well.
