15lbs+?  That thing looks like a beach ball with a head and tail attached.  Might be the fattest rainbow I've ever seen.
very cool

Thanks kemfish, one of the guys in our group had a scale and it read around 15.5 lbs. There's a number of bigger rainbows that have been entered on AOTY and they're very impressive.

One of my buddies caught *TWO* that were bigger than mine, the largest being around 31". I recently moved and forgot that all my fishing nets were sitting a long way away in my mom's garage, so I brought the biggest AQUARIUM net I have (pictured below) thinking I wouldn't catch anything more than pan-sized. After botching the first netting attempt and somehow not dislodging the barbless hook I used this net as more of a spatula to flip the fish into the footwell. Definitely a memorable experience and my favourite fish ever caught.

Wells there's the secret.  Everyone knows you get the best fish when you're not prepared for it

That's even more awesome.  fly fishing, barbless hook, tiny net

That fish makes me smile everytime I look at it.
