(Anywhere But Work and Anything Big & Shiny)

I'm staying close to home, Pepper and I are launching at Exploding Whale park and trolling for salmon from CG to the Siuslaw mouth.  Assuming the fog has lifted by about 11am and conditions are as forecast (and I don't have a chinook on board already), heading over the Siuslaw bar to troll for salmon all afternoon off of Florence.

Cough, cough, cough.  Fogarty early and looking for anything that will bite :)

To the untrained eye the conditions look like it will be pretty perfect conditions and good fishing if the coho cooperate. If not mistaken, coho fishing closes Sunday until 9/1.

Anyone else looking to hit Fogarty?

Good forecast! We found the coho around 180 ft off Fogarty yesterday. Hard rip where the temp went from 49 to 54. Not a hot coho bite, but it was steady til about noon. Bottomfish bite was really good in the chilly water.

Highly doubt I can swing it Tuesday, but for folks who can, you should capitalize on it. Mark-select coho season runs through August 18th. Non-mark-select opens September 1st.

Shoot, I'm only good at big and slimy.

Big and shiny is an elusive dream reserved for the magical land known as Siltcoos.

All the Windy models, Stormsurf, Surfline, and NWS spot forecast paint a very nice week. I don't think you can go wrong with picking any day to fish this week.

Would agree there!  Been itching to get out this summer and haven’t made it happen yet between work time off not lining up with good ocean forecast.  Fingers crossed this sticks.

FYI, it’s flat, calm and NOT foggy at Fogarty this morning.

Balloon wheels are essential for an old guy like me. There’s 50+ yards of sand to traverse.

Definitely need beach wheels. If you have a Hobie and are willing to show up early I have a Hobie cart with beach wheels you could borrow. LMK
