I was wondering what people’s experience has been with the lunar fishing calendar.  I know there are some people who swear by them and others like me who have seen mixed results.  I’ve been skunked on great lunar fishing days and had great days on days rated fair.

If you are not familiar with lunar fishing calendars, they rate each day by the fishing/hunting peak feeding times.  The best days correlate with a full moon and a new moon.

If it is helpful, are there certain species it is more beneficial for?  The calendars are printed in many hunting/ fishing magazines, so someone must think they help.  What are your thought?
The two best times to fish is when it’s raining and when it ain’t. -Patrick McManus

Being retired, they pay me when I go fishing, therefore I am kind of a professional fisherman.

I've never noticed huge differences, but I feel there is some truth to the daytime bite being slower if it's been close to a full moon. Figure the fish are feeding more at night, and therefore not as hungry or active during the day.
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?
