Thanks to everyone in advance for volunteering to help NWKA. It never ceases to amaze me how cool kayak fishermen/women are. You guys rock!!

Hey Zee

We could bring some blankets and make a bassinet out of a Yak for the little one then you can have some father daughter bonding . and that way you can change diapers when needed..

If I was 186 miles closer I'd be all over it. Thanks for the offer! ;D

We really, really could use a second person at the NWKA booth on Saturday.

I personally can't man the booth on Saturday because I have obligations with the Ocean Kayak booth (time to pay for that demo boat of mine).  I will, however, do my best to stop in from time to time. Right now we only have one person volunteering on Saturday and Saturday will be the busiest of the two days.

For Sunday, it looks like we have at about four people which is great.

Zee,

I like how you're moving farther away from the Paddle Festival as the actual day approaches.

I'd be happy to help, but being as though I am a pretty much a non-fishing troll, my efforts would be weak.  I don't really know how to pimp a T13 beyond recognition, and only go after small stream dwellers using a bug wand.  But if you need an errand boy or manual labor, I can see if my schedule has an opening on Saturday morning.....

Actually, you've trolled here long enough that I'm sure you can provide some insight to folks that might be interested in the topic of kayak fishing.  If they have specific questions you can't answer you can always send them to the kayak fishing seminar or the Ocean Kayak booth to speak to me.  So, yes an extra hand at the booth would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian

I think we have just about all the time slots covered right now.  Having another around for a few hours in the afternoon on Saturday would be helpful.

For those how  are coming to help out...
-If you can, please bring your fishing kayak all rigged up for people to gawk at.

-Also, bring your paddling gear (there are a lot of demo boats to check out).

-Bring a folding/camping/lawn chair of some sort.  I don't have chairs for the booth so you'll have to supply your own sitting arrangement.

-For those with morning the shift, I'll be setting up at 7 am and people start filtering in around 8 am.  If you can get in before 8 am that would be helpful.

-Don't forget to take some time to enjoy the rest of the festival.  I'll be working the Ocean Kayak booth and fishing seminars, but I can probably relieve you now and then if you want to take a break and wander around.

-Directions to Vancouver Lake:

Take I-5 to Vancouver, exit on either Mill Plain or 4th Plain and go West. Mill Plain and 4th Plain merge into Lower River Road, Follow signs to Vancouver Lake. Approximately 5 miles from I-5 to the park.

Thanks again.  See you on Saturday and/or Sunday!

andy

Glad you could help. I am new to all this. I think this is going to be a great adventure and learning experience. I am pumped.

I am bringing 2 chairs and a table and a grill if we want to grill out.

I am looking forward to meeting people and putting names to faces.

Hi Marilyn,

I'm more of a kayaker than a kayak fisherman, but I'll be there during the pre-noon hours on Saturday.  I'll try and bring a chair or two as well.  I'll do my best to answer people's questions and send them to Brian at the OK booth.

It should be fun, and we'll get to see some cool new boats.

Looking forward to it...

AJ

I have about 100 one page fliers called "Interested in Kayak Fishing?" that should cover the basics. I'll also have a copy of latest edition of  "Kayak Fishing: the Ultimate Guide" which people can browse.  As Andy said, if they seem serious and want to know more send them to the Ocean Kayak booth or the Kayak Fishing seminar.
