I'm not opposed to doing the Pacific Beach thing a bit earlier and the pink salmon at the end of August.  Actually, for me the earlier everything is the better.
How about Oregon Rockfish Classic on Aug 15-16th and the Picnic Point Pinkout September 5th? That'll put them both in primetime and a two week gap in between.

Do the salt one day and drift the lower snoho for river pinks the next.  Heck, given another day we can do a city run and fish the schooling pinks on the fly in the lower duwamish.  Three different style ... thrice the fun!!!
If you did half the things you talked about you'd be a very tired man.

Would love to find a campground on the lower snoho that we can base out of.  Do the salt one day and drift the lower snoho for river pinks the next.  Heck, given another day we can do a city run and fish the schooling pinks on the fly in the lower duwamish.  Three different style ... thrice the fun!!!

Hah!  I'm already a very tired man these days, which is probably why I don't get to doing half the things that run through my head.

sometimes you can run into some annoying wind in the middle of August due to the day heating of the valley.  September worked out well last year and the more moderate valley temps in the middle to end of september keeps the late morning blow to a minimum.  I am cool with whatever the group decides..

The camping thing at kayak point sounds like fun.  We had better settle on a date  to allow max time for advance reservations.

Slow trolling is the name of the game.  30-70' down.

4-6 ounce crescent sinker.  #0 white herring dodger.  Pink hootchie.

Hey Antpo, don't feel stupid. We were all newbies at one time or another. Like Pole said, pink salmon fishing is a simply geared game.
