I'm going to work on photos next, as pictures are always good.

Here's a chance for you to tell me what to do after that.  What all do you want to see on the site after I get photos working?

If anyone has any ideas on an NWKA logo, please do speak up as well!!!

Avatar uploading with auto resizing is now working.  Let's see your smiling faces now!  I know, it seems like a given that this stuff would work, but I'm celebrating my little successes in my new life as a website-designer-wannabe!!!   ;D

How about photos of boats outfitted for kayak fishing here in the NW.  Everything I see is of guys in shorts paddling out of San Diego or LA using live bait.  A forum of outfitting photos would be a great way to share what works good here in the NW.  Also, since some purely paddlers are coming over to fishing from their kayaks, forums on basic fishing techniques and equipment for the NW fisheries would be helpful.

Thanks!

NWpaddler is right on.
The first thing I did when I discovered ncka was to go to the rigging and HOW TO forums.
The HOW TO is great for a number of subjects.
also very important, I think, is a site for the OR. and WA. regs for the year. These things are or can be very daunting to some people not used to ciphering thruogh Govt. talk.

Great idea for forums AND articles.

The new forums are up.  I added a "Rigged Kayaks" forum and a "Getting Started" forum.

As I'll soon to be in the process of rigging up some new boats,  I'll put together a photo documenatary of the process and make an article out of it for the front page.  Does anyone have any other photos of their kayak rigging?  It's not something I usually take pictures of.  Perhaps I'll make a more concentrated effort to take photos of others rigged kayaks.

I'm hesitant to put up a forum specifically for regs as I don't want to be responsible for passing on some potential mis-information.  I'll generally give my interpretation of the regulations with standard disclaimers to double check the regs for confirmation.  If anyone knows a game warden that would want to participate here, I'm more than happy have them host a forum.  I've seen it work well on other forums.

good point about the reg's forum. I never thought of the repercussions of bad advice!

Can you ad a link to WDFW sites. There is one that is used for last minute updates

https://fortress.wa.gov/dfw/erules/efishrules/freshwater_select.h

I think this is it, try it and to see if I copied it right and if you can make a link to it.

Hey it worked, if you can add that as a link that would be a nice thing. Although its only fresh water though.

I just got back from long beach and the peninsula for a little break with the family. Do you know what five days of eating nothing but oysters will do to a  mans body ;). lets just say my wife wouldn't sleep with me for about three days. And it aint what you think. It does a number on your lower intestinal tract. As my two year old would say "pee chew" daddy tink. :o

POLEPOLE,
I see a few folks from other ares trying to learn " the Pacific way " of fishing.
Maybe a section of how to rig lines for target fish. We can all learn from each other and I could use some more ideas as well.

If someone has questions, please post in one of the other categories like the "Let's Talk Kayak Fishing" or "Getting Started".  Over the next few months I'd like to work on the "content" of the site in general.  If there are some good threads started, I'll incorporate them into some articles on the main web site.  BTW, if you have an idea for an article, please do send to me.  I'd love to post material from various members.  I've already received some material from some of the guys with more on the way.  So keep it coming.  This is your chance to get published on the web!
