I haven't heard any recent reports from the Willamette, but I am heading out tomorrow and with any luck I will be posting some fishy pictures.

I'm officially registered.  Stopped by the shop, but didn't know registration was to be done online.  Got it all squared away though...

Sturgeon fishing has been tough because the last months worth of rain has made water conditions, um, "less than ideal." I know about 3 weeks ago it took 16oz of lead to keep the bait on the bottom down at the Toyota hole.  To top it off, within 20 minutes there was a ton of weed wrapped around the lines.  Right now things are looking on the up, and for those of you heading out tomorrow it should be good fishing.  Just have to hope the accumulations over the next week are minimal.

FWIW, i know of over a dozen fish caught in the last month ;) would have been more, but i've been sick the last couple days  :sad4:

Its the 1 week countdown to the 1st annual NA Sturgeon Tourney. With the Columbia now opened to the tourney, we are hoping to see some pretty nice fish at weigh in. If I have not added your name to the list, let me know so I can get you up there.
Cheers!

Right now it isn't bad at all.  Where I am in downtown it is not too tough to get upriver.  If we don't get a lot of rain in this next week it should get even more mild.

the Willy is definitely looking good to me.  I've been seeing sand again along its edges and Ross Island.

It is about prime right now.  If it gets much lower the tide starts to be way to effective at killing the current especially from Sellwood bridge to the mouth.  Makes it much harder to stay square while fishing and for the most part, in the harbor for sure, once the current dies off the bite isn't far behind.  Best bite below Sellwood is always on outgoing water.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

Our participant list is looking pretty sweet. We're up to 9 that have paid and 2 that are still on the fence(Ling Banger, Nanook)..
Let me know if you're thinking of coming and I'll add your name to the list...
Also, keep in mind the family friendly "weigh in" that starts at 4PM.. Your entry fee covers all the food, drinks and raffle following the tourney.
Looking forward to it!!
