My wife is going to be busy so can't make the trip down so for now I'll be going by myself. Anyone else who want's to come down can carpool w/ me, just split the gas bill. I'll be leaving Friday Oct. 5 and coming back on Monday Oct. 8.

BAM (Bendo At Mendo, an NCKA event) is a Striped Bass event at lake Mendocino in Ukiah. There will of course be prizes and a raffle but also a swap meet which is new for this year. First prize is the coveted BAM belt buckle. Normally I wouldn't care about a belt buckle but this is custom made by a NCKA member who's a jeweler and it's amazing! Here's last year's:

The fishing can be hot w/ Stripers ranging 4-10lbs. on average. And if you've never experienced a big Striper boil all I can say is it's a helluva rush :o. There are also LMB, SMB, catfish and crappie in the lake.

The people of NCKA are awesome and camaraderie of our fellow yak fishermen/women is another huge reason I go down there. What can I say, we're awesome! :D If you're down for the adventure lemme know.

I wish. :'(

I had to bail on a planned trip to Elk, a couple of years ago, when the car I was to leave with the wife, started acting up the morning of the day I was headed out.
