Maybe we should call our tourney MXFC instead of AOTY to distinguigh it from NCKA's.

Oh and as per a feature request that Allen once mentioned, I've also added listings to rank anglers within each state/province (AK, BC, WA, ID, OR).

Are the state/province breakouts based on where the angler is based from, or where the fish were caught.

I personally plan on trying to fish in all the states/provinces  ;D (or at least many of them)  so how would you bin my catches?

Allen,

I guess I hadn't considered the roving fisherman like yourself.  Right now the state breakouts are based on the home state of the angler. I could easily enough change that to be the state in which the fish was caught (you'd have to enter state along with the picture, species, and length of each catch you record).  Let me know how you want it.

I could go either way.  I would like to hear some other people's thoughts on the matter.  If you have an opinion here, speak up soon please.

I like the idea of entering the state for each fish. A 30# Chinook is huge here in the sound but in AK that's just about a cookie cutter. There's a lot of prestige in pulling a 40" ling in Wa as compared to AK.

Just my 2 cents.

PS. and MXFC sounds great but I'm sure it would then have to entail to many hideous "eliminations." :laughing7:

Polepole,

Hey!  Wait a minute, WAIT A MINUTE!!   :o  Did I read that post right?  Did you really type "WAF" where you never typed anything but "GAF" in the past?  I read that late last night and it didn't hit me until I was nearly off to sleep.

So is there something you want to tell us Polepole?  Is there a new Mrs. Pole that you might want to introduce?   >:D

If at first you don't succeed....  maybe skydiving is just not for you.

Polepole,

Oh, yeah... I'm favoring a state (or Province) by state (or Province).  Or maybe a combo of Or., Wa., B.C., and maybe Id.; just like the coverage of our board.  Sorry to leave you out Waterwolf, but QCI would be unfair like Alaska would be unfair.  Probably most guys can't afford to travel to the "biggest fish" hunting grounds like some others.

I realize, of course, that supporting multiple states with promises of prizes in each one will be really tough.  Therefore I defer to your decision, Pole.

Tom, what are you adding to your coffee?   :hello:  Where did I say WAF?

Pole,

Dang!  You're right!  That was the post by ZEE where he posted the elimination challenge video.

Sorry, my bad.  Hey, I told you it was late at night.  Yeah, yeah, delete that post if you need to.

This probably isn't the spot to announce this, but the AOTY site is now up and running.

http://aoty.northwestkayakanglers.com

Feel free to play with it.   You'll need to register for a new account on the application and it's best if you use your same screenname.

Oh, and for now please ignore the paypal link that is currently on the new AOTY site.  I just noticed that it still points to the NCKA AOTY registration.  I'm having it removed ASAP.  Once PolePole get's a new pay pal set up for our AOTY I'll add that new link back in.

I created a Paypal "Add to Cart" button and put it up on the top bar.  Brian, I sent you the code snippet.  I intend to fill in the description and rules sometime in the immediate future.

Okay Allen, I've dropped the rules for now, kept the species points per inch listings and fixed the paypal snippet.  I expect these changes to propagate up to actual site soon enough.  (Bill is supposed to grant me permissions to do my own updates soon).

Oh ... I didn't see the rules.  I assume they were the same as NCKA.  I was just going to poach those.   ;)

Okay, looks like I have permissions to do my own updating now.  Everything is fixed including the paypal.

Until Allen gets the rules straightened out, feel free to register, upload some fake fish data and see what happens.  Once the rules are straight, I'll dump the data and we'll start fresh.

I probably should write some documentation, but I think it's mostly straight forward.
