Rob,
sorry if i sound p.o.'d...actually, was dishing back at ya..  ;D

seriously, if we are gonna have a year long tourney, why have bonus events? if you really want to make waves in it towards winning, motivate yourself to go out and fish..take the frau und kinder too sometimes, heck, buy a tandem and make points two ways.. taking the kids or your lady with you and fishing the tourney rules at the same time...

anyways, i'm not gonna preach to those who are married etc... but if K ever comes back my way, definitely i'm practicing my version of my little sermon...

The vote is 7-5, we need one more 'yes' vote to end this sucker-- come on vote!

On a somewhat unrelated topic-- As I was sweeping floors and general cleanup around the house on a Saturday morning with no wind outside (let me repeat-NO wind blowing), in order to secure more WAF points, it occurred to me that those in the AOTY without live-in companionship-such as wives, should consider starting the tourney with a minus 150 (-150) points in order to even things up for those of us less fortunate.

Otherwise, surely I would be measuring the first fish in this tournament.

So, if you are not cleaning house-- get the hell out on the water.

Thanks so much.

Rob.

Hmmff. I could be cleaning the house..... ;) :bs:
See ya on the water..

Single you say?

-Allen

I was shopping at the local supermarket where I selected:
A half-gallon of 2% milk,
A carton of eggs,
A quart of orange juice,
A head of romaine lettuce,
A 2 lb. can of coffee, and
A 1 lb. package of bacon.

As I was unloading my items on the conveyor belt to check out, a drunk was standing behind me watching and he said, “You must be single.”

I looked at the six items on the conveyor belt and saw nothing that could have tipped him off to the fact that I was indeed single.  Curiosity getting the better of me, I replied, “Well, you know what, you're absolutely right. But how on earth did you know that?'

The drunk replied, “Because you're ugly.”

Rich--  The only reason to have bonus points is to encourage members of the club to fish together, to get to know each other- sort of the definition of a club.  We may not be a club but we are a loose knit organization united in our love of fishing and kayaking.

The only way these bonus points get awarded is if there is an "event"-- definition of which is that at least 10 members participate-- thus encouraging us to get together.

I have all year to go out on my own and fish and usually thats the way it works out.  I love going out on my own and fishing-- it's great to be out on the water.  But there is nothing wrong with comraderie either and I tend to learn a lot more when I'm with others.  Maybe I just have a lot more to learn than you.

Cheers and happy fishing,
Rob.

No resolution of the "bonus points" issue?

From the poll it looks like only 12 votes have been cast.  Just curious but how many have signed up for AOTY?

Bonus points may be irrelevant if 10 members are necessary for an "event".   ???

About 8 have signed up to AOTY so far.  I'm actually expecting a second wave of signups as spring approaches and people get active again.  That being said, I'm going to guess we get ~20 total this year.

I'll let the poll stay open until midnight Feb 29 and make the call.

You may be right about the 10 people, but I intentionally set the bar high.

Do the anglers at an event all have to be signed up for AOTY to count?

I sure hope more of you vote in the presidential elections than I see here.  I know that we get on average about 25 of you guys logging in each day with spikes up into the 30s.  So vote ... and put this poll out of its misery.   ;D

Built mine too Pisco.  ;D  That makes two "marginal" votes-- hope we didn't cancel each other out.

I'm a flip flopper.Just wanted to see what it felt like to be a politician.. ;D

So, i figured we might as well give it a try, see how it works out.Any event that will attract ten people is an event i want to be at anyway, tourney or not.
See ya on the water..
